"Great Day Out "
Visited last week with the grandchildren. The scary thing was recognising a lot of the exhibits and being able to explain their use to the kids. Also enjoyed playing on the penny machines, who needs a XBOX

"It doesn't get better than this! "
Bygones is Living History. It is not a dusty museum, but a vast collection - arranged with ingenuity - to delight young and old alike. Sadly I recognised far too many things from my 1950s childhood, which is indicative of the march of time! And finally ... how do the owners keep it so CLEAN? It looks like the fairies from Fantasy Land have swept through the whole building overnight, and polished everything in sight!

This is fantastic for children to learn history, not just from a book or on the net, they can see for themselves and remember more by being at bygones

"let bygones be bygones...because they're good at what they do "
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Bygones last month, it was extremeley interesting and well put together and I will certainly come again. I loved all the interactive elements and the wartime exhibit was very moving. The people behind Bygones should be very proud of what they have achieved, I look forward to coming back.

"Brilliant place ever! "
Your museum was brilliant !! i love history ! and thouroughly enjoyed it and thought the victorian street was fantastic! My one point is that you should try and make the blitz section a bit longer ! it needed a bit more of a experiance walk through like the trench walk through! My opinion on the victorian house was again brilliant! The dentist made me scared but the nursery was a sweet and wonderfull idea! I played on the old games and bought some brilliant gifts! Well Done !!

"Highlight of my holiday "
The promotional literature doesn't convey the size of Bygones and how much there is to see, and it isn't limited only to the Victorian / Edwardian period. It would have been worth the trip for the penny tableaus alone. The scope of Bygones covers every aspect of life, the day to day minutaie such as a (horrific!) trip to the dentists, right through to a bleak, shivering prison. Much of the displays are interactive, even the model railways, which were very impressive. There are many great things in the gift shop too, including handsome Robert Opie books and Gollies!

"Great displays to see "
On the outside of Bygones it looked really small but as we got inside it was huge and fascinating. The cafe food was really nice. There was a huge variety of displays to see and we all enjoyed every minute of it. I especially liked the old arcade machines, the displays about WW1 and all the disney characters. The souvenirs were great and we all felt that the staff was very welcoming. I would love to go and visit again when in Torquay.

"Fantastic trip back in time! "
What a marvellous museum, it's packed with all sorts of paraphernalia from household to military. The displays are excellent and people can see how things have progressed over the years. The Victorian street and shops are a credit to the staff, it looks and smells realistic, the railway set-ups are also very good. DO NOT miss attraction when visiting Torquay.

""Walking into my dreams" "
I love Bygones. Walking from outside you just think oh a museum. Once your inside you take a step back in time. I first went with my mum when i was 9 on holiday and i was scared by the man who jumped out of the toilet! Then the next time i went with my brother and mum and dad and we loved the dentist who says this wont hurt. I can just imagine that woman whacking him round the head with her handbag!! Im 16 now and this year i will be making a trip down to torquay and most definetly Bygones!

Hi, I like the site it really shows how good the actual place is. (which may I say is wonderful!) I came here with my school, Holly Lodge, and had a fantastic time! We got to dress up, look at the toy trains, walk through a Victorian street and actually smell the things our ansisters would have, walk through a World War 1 camp and climb on the massive train! It was really fun and I learnt lots and lots of interesting things that I never knew about the Victorains. Especially as it was our last day we all were tired and expected it to be boring but we had such a good time! The only thing I might complain about is the gift shop, not because of the things you sell (which might I say are quite interesting and factual) But that the space is very enclosed and cramped. Apart from that though, I had a wonderful day out and it finished the week off excellently! Thank You Very Much! Zoe, 10

"Brilliant Day Out!! "
I visited Bygons in 2005, and it was absolutely brilliant. Far better than studying an event from a text book. Its really interesting and fun for the whole family. The cafe is especially good, with the best EVER scone and clotted cram. You've got to try it!!! Just go there, its a brilliant day out for the whole family!!

"Creepy "
Just visiting the website to see some pictures of the museum. In my work I sometimes have to put postcards in food gift packs. A few weeks ago I had to do an order for this attraction, I almost freaked due to the dummies standing around the museum. Nicely set out but a bit creepy. It almost looks like one or all of these dummies will come alive at sometime. On a holiday to Wales I encountered a few of these dummy characters. I was young and unsure what to make of these non moving people. I survived the experience and now that I'm older to understand I want to go to more attractions with waxwork dummies, Madame Tusaad's perhaps, Warwick Castle.
