Experience the sights, sounds & smells of a World War One trench. Enter the WWW1 trench set somewhere in France 1916. Conditions are appalling, soon you will become caked in mud. A medical orderly tends one of the wounded from last night's raid. Pte. Taylor observes enemy movements through his periscope while Cpl. Harvey cooks breakfast over a brazier.

In the officers' dugout a major from the 1st Devons is planning his next move whilst a lieutenant sleeps. Pause where a fallen hero is laid to rest on the battlefield.

On the first day of the Somme, 1st July 1916, 57,470 British soldiers became casualties, more than the total casualties in the Crimean, Boer and Korean Wars.

View the displays of militaria commemorating battles from Waterloo to the Gulf. Spot the 1900 Boer War Christmas pudding still complete, the Victorian 17th Lancers' helmet and the medals awarded for the many campaigns throughout the British Empire.
